We are very lucky to have a fantastic team of experienced, caring and dedicated staff supporting our children learn.
Jane Bartlett – Pre School Supervisor
I trained at the St Nicholas Montessori College London in 1994. Prior to this my background was in Customer Services. I worked in a Montessori Nursery in Horley before I had my children. When my girls were young I worked at the village playgroup in Ardingly, initially as a parent help, but within two years ended up the Supervisor. I always believed in the Montessori method of preparing young children for school, and I opened my own Montessori nursery in Ardingly. This was very successful for 12 years, until the increased costs of overheads made it financially unviable. I was ‘persuaded’ to come to West Hoathly to help develop and improve the service offered.
Issy Nicholas – Deputy Pre School Supervisor
I am Issy Nicholas and I started in my role at WHPS in Sept 2015. I taught for many years at a Pre-Prep boys school in Central London as a classroom teacher until leaving London when I had my second child in 1993. I later worked as supervisor at Hartfield Nursery School and then as a special needs teaching assistant at Forest Row Primary School. I then had a break from the classroom to set up my own business which ran for about eleven years. Teaching is my first love so when I saw this post advertised I jumped at the chance and was delighted to be offered this position. I have been made to feel very welcome by Jane who has been extremely helpful and supportive, the committee who have also made me feel at home and the parents and children. I am enjoying the challenge of a different approach to planning and recording, I have attended a two day EYFS course plus a one day First Aid course. I am very impressed by the strong community spirit in West Hoathly, the Primary school and the Pre-School work closely together to ensure that the transition is as smooth as possible. I look forward to whatever the rest of this school year has in store.
Rebecca Denne – Pre School Helper
I was introduced to WH preschool when my eldest daughter started a few years ago. I loved the friendly community feel and joined the committee, finding it a great way to meet new people. Having grown up in Ardingly, I loved the idea of both my children experiencing the same community spirited preschool. My previous career background is in Photography, which is now a hobby. After completing my degree I worked for some of the UK’s top photo agencies in London as a picture researcher and sales executive. Since having my first daughter I have been looking after my children as a full-time Mum and have worked at WHPS since January 2016.
