In addition to the team who work with your children every day, the Pre School could not exist without an active and dedicated committee. The committee in made up entirely of volunteers, most of whom work on a full or part time basis and who are parents of children at the Pre School. We meet monthly and our role is to support aspects of Pre School such as resources, children and curriculum, finance and fundraising and staffing. The committee is elected at the Annual General Meeting and all parents are invited to attend. The committee also organises fundraising events throughout the year.
At present our committee is made up of 6 members (in addition to the staff), all of whom have different specialisms and skills to offer. Liz Shannon, Sarah Harding (Stella’s mum), Rebecca Denne (Staff/Millie’s mum), Emily Martin, Sophie Abbott (Amelia’s mum) and Gareth Rees (Emma’s Dad) our treasurer. In addition I would like to introduce myself, Alice Rees (Emma’s mum) as the committee chair. I am currently a member of Senior Leadership Team of a Church of England primary school in London Bridge, a school I have taught at for 12 years.
We are always looking for new members to join our committee, we have all found it immensely rewarding and a great way to socialise and meet new people who live locally. As a minimum, the commitment is a monthly evening meeting (usually on Wednesdays in West Hoathly) and lending a hand at any fundraising events you can manage and there are always other ways to get involved. Please do contact us through the Contact page if you are interested in joining.
